2009 results August 29• In West Plains (Mo.) Speedway's crate late model class, Chris finished second in the heat race, then started third and finished third in the feature race. The event concluded the racing season. August 28• In the crate late model division at Malden (Mo.) Speedway, Chris started third in the feature, then finished fourth after a side-by-side race much of the way. He was second in the heat race. August 21 • Competing in the super late model class at Paducah (Ky.) Raceway, Chris finished 14th in the feature after he started 18th. He finished ninth in his heat race. August 15 • In the first trip this year to Northeast Arkansas Speedway in Harrisburg, Chris started fourth and finished fourth in the late model heat race. He started seventh and improved to fifth place in the feature. August 14 • At Paducah (Ky.) Raceway, Chris started on the pole of his late model heat race and finished third. He started 10th in the feature race, but impact from another car in the front-left corner damaged the steering and handling; he finished 15th. August 8 • Racing at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway for the first time in several years, Chris finished fifth in his crate late model heat race and started ninth in the feature race. He improved to seventh at the finish. August 7 • After two weeks off, Chris competed at Paducah (Ky.) Speedway for the first time this season. He finished fourth in his heat race, then finished ninth in the crate late model feature. July 18 • In his first trip to West Kentucky Speedway in Nebo, Ky., Chris led flag-to-flag to win his heat race for late models and earned a front-row start for the feature race. He dropped into second place for the first four laps, but on a restart the third-place car made hard contact with the left-front of the car. Because of the damage, Chris pulled off the track one lap later and didn't finish. July 17 • At Malden Speedway, Chris started third in the late model feature race and finished fifth. The dry track surface provided mostly one-groove racing with little passing. He started fourth in the heat race and finished second. July 3 • After visibility and handling became a problem on a dusty surface at Malden Speedway, Chris dropped out of the late model feature race just a few laps into the event. He was credited with 10th place. June 27 • Chris won his first feature race of the season — and his first career win at West Plains Speedway — after passing the leader on the 14th lap and leading from there. Chris finished third in his heat race. June 26 • Debuting a new C.J. Rayburn car at Malden Speedway, Chris started on the pole of the late model feature race after winning his heat race, then slipped to fourth in the feature race before riding into second at the finish. June 19 • After a week off because of wet weather, Chris fifth in the late model feature at Malden Speedway. June 6 • Chris finished third in his heat race, then started on the pole of the late model feature at West Plains Speedway after the top three starters were inverted. He raced side-by-side for third place through much of the event and was passed at the finish, settling for fourth. June 5 • After starting on the pole and winning the heat race, Chris started at the front in the feature and slid into fourth by the third lap at Malden Speedway; after finding the fast line at the top of the track, Chris maintained fourth place at the finish. May 22 • At Malden Speedway, Chris finished second in one of three heat races and started sixth in the feature. He passed three cars in the final five laps to finish fifth. May 9 • At West Plains Speedway, Chris finished fifth in his late model heat race after starting third. That put him 10th at the start of the feature, where he improved to finish fifth. April 25 • Chris finished fifth in his heat race at Malden Speedway after starting second. He finished 13th in the feature and improved to finish 10th. April 17 • Chris made his first trip this season to Malden Speedway and scored his best finish of 2009, finishing second to winner Kyle Berry in both his heat race and in the late model feature. April 11 • Chris competed in West Plains Speedway's weekly event and finished fifth in his heat race. After starting 10th in the feature, he finished 11th. April 4 • Chris competed at West Plains Speedway for the track's first event for the weekly Fastrak late models.
