2008 results

April 12: Chris competed with the Fastrak touring series for the first time in the group's debut at West Plains (Mo.) Speedway. He started third and finished third in the heat race, setting up a ninth-place start in the feature. He was as high as sixth in the feature before settling into eighth.

April 20: Chris finished fourth in the 75-lap national event for the Fastrak touring series at Malden (Mo.) Speedway. The $5,000-to-win race was April 19-20.

May 3: Malden Speedway held double features for Fastrak late models. Chris started fifth in the first feature and moved up to second for several laps, then settled into third at the finish. In the second feature, Chris didn't finish and was credited with eighth.

May 9: Chris started in the middle of a 16-car pack of the Fastrak late model feature at Malden Speedway and gradually worked his way up to a fourth-place finish. The second day of the two-day program was rained out.

May 16: In Benton Racepark's first Fastrak late model event of the season, Chris finished third in the heat race and fifth in the dash; a dry-slick track in the feature produced limited passing, and Chris finished sixth after starting fifth.

May 24: Chris raced at Montgomery County Speedway in New Florence, Mo., for the first time in preparation for an upcoming Fastrak special event. In the heat race, Chris started third and finished third, and in the feature he started sixth and finished sixth.

May 30: In a weekly Fastrak-sanctioned event at Malden Speedway, Chris won his heat race to earn a front-row start in the feature. In that race, Chris fell back as far as seventh before moving back up to fifth in a nose-to-tail finish among the top five.

June 7: Montgomery County hosted a special Fastrak Midwest Region event for late models. Chris entered the event third in points, finished fifth in his heat race (after starting ninth) and finished 13th in the feature race (after starting 14th).

June 21: Chris made his first late model start at Clayhill Speedway (Atwood, Tenn.) and finished fourth in his heat race and seventh in the feature after starting eighth.

June 27: Chris returned to Malden Speedway for a weekly late model event, finishing third in the heat and fourth in the feature (after starting sixth).

July 4: Chris won his first late model feature of the season at Malden Speedway in the track's Fastrak-sanctioned class.

July 5: In the team's first trip to Clay County Speedway in Flora, Ill., Chris finished third behind Ed Dixon and Billy James in a special $1,200-to-win Midwest Region event for Fastrak late models.

July 18: Chris competed at the nearby Benton Racepark in a monthly Fastrak-sanctioned event. He won his heat race and was in second place through much of the feature before finishing third.

July 19: The 2-hour trip to Atwood, Tenn., resulted in a sixth-place finish at Clayhill Motorsports. Chris started on the fourth row, moved up to fifth early, then finished sixth.

July 26: A Fastrak special event at Clay County Speedway produced a third-place finish in the heat race race. That put Chris on the third row of the feature, where he finished sixth.

August 1: Chris finished sixth in the Fastrak late model feature at Malden Speedway.

August 2: Chris finished fourth in his heat race for late models, which put him eighth at the start of the 18-car feature. He finished seventh on a dry-slick racing surface.

August 9: In his first trip to Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, for a Fastrak national touring event, Chris finished eighth in his heat race and ninth in the B-main, short of a qualifying spot for the A-main.

August 16: Chris won his second late model feature race of the season, but his first at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tenn. He led every lap of his heat race and every lap of the 21-car feature.

August 29: After two weeks of rainouts, the Fastrak Midwest series competed with a special event at Malden Speedway. Chris finished third in his heat race but was caught behind a wreck on lap 2 of the feature and was eliminated with front-end damage. He was credited with 15th.

September 6: Chris was tagged by a spinning car and eliminated from the feature for the second week in a row at Malden Speedway. He finished fifth in his heat and was credited with 11th in the feature.

September 13: On the second day of a two-day event for Fastrak late models at Malden Speedway, Chris started on the fifth row of the 25-lap feature race. Running just outside the top 10, he pulled to the infield on lap 10 and finished 12th.

September 19: Callaway Raceways in Fulton, Mo., hosted the first round of the three-race Fastrak Grand Nationals series. In his heat race, Chris started fourth and finished fourth. In the feature race, he started eighth and moved up to finish fourth. In the track's regular weekly program for late models, Chris won his heat race but did not finish the feature.

October 3: Malden Speedway hosted the Nathan Rettig Memorial Cotton Boll Cup for late models. After practice Thursday, Chris competed Friday and finished seventh in his heat race; he finished third in the B-main, one spot short of the transfer spot to the A-main.
