ABOUT OUR TEAM

Chris competes on the late model stock car circuit at a variety of oval dirt tracks near his Sikeston, Mo., home, with a focus on tracks in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas. The team's No. 66 late model was built by C.J. Rayburn with a GM factory-built crate engine.

Since his racing career began in an open-wheel modified at Pocahontas, Ark., in 1994, Chris has won more than a dozen feature races with dozens of top-five finishes at tracks across the Midwest and South.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Three words or phrases that best describes me: Dependable, competitive but laid back.

My closest friends would say I ... am more mischevious than most people know.

My biggest role models: My family.

What I want to be doing in 10 years: My daughters will be 19 and 13 by then. I'm sure they will be keeping me busy.

My longterm goals: Enjoy life and my family and retire sometime (hopefully a long time) before I'm 70.

My advice to somebody younger who considers me a role model: Work hard. Go to church. In racing, be smooth and race clean.

Why I compete: To win and to try to get our car faster each time we race.

Who or what motivates me: My dad motivates my racing. He is very dedicated to it and spends many hours each week trying different things to the car to try to get the most out of it.

How I'd describe my racing style: Clean, smooth, aggressive when the car allows me to be.

FAVORITES

Athletes: Michael Jordan, Jeff Gordon.

Race tracks: Benton when its tacky and not rough, and DuQuoin because of the speed.

Three movies: Days of Thunder, National Treasure, Hitch.

Three TV shows: I can't really say. All that's ever on at home is Nickelodeon.
